ABOUT WESTMINSTER, LONDON
The Palace of Westminster, seat of the UK Parliament, stands on the north bank of the Thames. It was rebuilt after the fire of 1834 to designs by Charles Barry and Augustus Pugin. Its clock tower, completed in 1859, is officially the Elizabeth Tower; Big Ben is the name of the great bell inside. The classic view is from Westminster Bridge and the Embankment, especially at dusk, when the clock faces are lit.
The print shows that hour in autumn: a black cab and a red bus crossing the bridge, the tower lit gold, a man in a bowler hat with a whippet, leaves on the stone. It suits someone who has left London and misses it, or an Anglophile who walks the Embankment on every visit. Giclée-printed on Hahnemühle German Etching, available unframed, on canvas or framed, delivered free.
