ABOUT MAYFAIR, LONDON
Mayfair is in London's West End, between Hyde Park, Oxford Street, Regent Street and Piccadilly. It takes its name from the May Fair once held on the site in the 17th and 18th centuries. Behind its Georgian squares run mews: narrow cobbled lanes where the stables and coach houses of the grand houses once stood, now converted into houses. They are at their best in late spring, when the wisteria flowers, and again in autumn.
The print is one of those mews in autumn: wisteria gone gold, dahlias in a window, a burgundy saloon on the wet cobbles with its driver, Hyde Park glimpsed through the arch. It suits someone who has lived in London, a lover of old cars, or anyone setting up a first home in the city. Giclée-printed on Hahnemühle German Etching, available unframed, on canvas or framed, delivered free.
