ABOUT ST. MORITZ

St. Moritz lies at about 1,800 metres in the Engadin valley, in the Swiss canton of Graubünden, on the shore of a lake that freezes solid each winter. It hosted the Winter Olympics in 1928 and 1948. Since 1985 the frozen lake has been the ground for the Snow Polo World Cup each January, followed in February by White Turf, horse racing on the ice. The grand hotels along the slope above the lake date from the resort's first winter seasons in the 19th century.

The print shows snow polo at the end of the day: ponies on the frozen lake, white shearling and a camel coat in the crowd, the hotels lit behind them, the Engadin peaks turning pink. It suits someone who goes every January, a rider, or a skier who prefers the terrace to the piste. Giclée-printed on Hahnemühle German Etching, available unframed, on canvas or framed, delivered free.
