ABOUT ZERMATT
Zermatt is a car-free village in the Swiss canton of Valais, at the foot of the Matterhorn, reached by train from Visp or Täsch. Edward Whymper's party made the first ascent of the mountain in 1865. Today the village is linked to one of the highest ski areas in the Alps, with glacier skiing above Trockener Steg and runs that cross into Cervinia, Italy. February and March bring the most reliable snow, and the Matterhorn catches the last light long after the village has fallen into shadow.
The print is that moment: a sleigh in the lane, wooden skis carried on two shoulders, larch chalets lit amber at blue hour, the last sun on the summit. It suits a skier who spends February in Zermatt, a climber who has the Matterhorn on a list, or a family that goes back every year. Giclée-printed on Hahnemühle German Etching, available unframed, on canvas or framed, delivered free.
