ABOUT COURCHEVEL
Courchevel is a ski resort in Savoie, France, part of Les 3 Vallées, one of the largest linked ski areas in the world. Its villages are named by altitude, and Courchevel 1850 is the highest and best known. Above it sits the altiport, a short, steeply sloping mountain runway where light aircraft and helicopters land directly on the edge of the pistes. The season runs from December to April, and January brings the coldest days and the best snow.
The print shows an arrival at the altiport: a red plane on the snow, a woman in white shearling with a leather case, the pilot carrying her skis, the chalets of 1850 lit gold. It suits someone who flies in, a pilot, or a skier who has made Courchevel the fixed point of every winter. Giclée-printed on Hahnemühle German Etching, available unframed, on canvas or framed, delivered free.
