ABOUT SANTORINI
Santorini is an island in the southern Cyclades, in the Aegean Sea, Greece. Its cliffs are the rim of a flooded caldera left by a volcanic eruption in the Late Bronze Age, around 3,600 years ago, one of the largest in human history. The villages of Fira and Oia sit on the edge of that rim, with blue-domed churches and white houses stepping down towards the water, and several of the island's beaches are black volcanic sand. Sunset at Oia is the island's ritual; spring and autumn are quieter.
The print shows the blue domes above the caldera, the sea falling away into volcanic black. It suits a couple who honeymooned on Santorini, someone who watched the sunset from Oia, or anyone who wants a piece of the Aegean on a city wall. Giclée-printed on Hahnemühle German Etching, available unframed, on canvas or framed, delivered free.
