ABOUT CAPRI

Capri is an island in the Bay of Naples, in the Campania region of southern Italy, reached by ferry or hydrofoil from Naples and Sorrento. The Roman emperor Tiberius ruled the empire from here for much of his later reign, from the Villa Jovis. Off its southeast coast rise the Faraglioni, three limestone sea stacks, the island's defining view, best seen from the Gardens of Augustus or by boat. May, June and September bring warm water and fewer day-trippers than high summer.

The print shows the Faraglioni at high noon, rising from a sea of deep Mediterranean blue. It suits someone who honeymooned on the Amalfi Coast, an Italophile, or anyone who measures summers by how close they got to the water. Giclée-printed on Hahnemühle German Etching, available unframed, on canvas or framed, delivered free.
